Reed Diffuser Oil Recipe
This reed diffuser oil recipe uses essential oils instead of the synthetic
fragrances that are in most store-bought reed diffusers. But you can substitute
fragrance oil for essential oil in your reed diffuser oil recipe.
Reed Diffuser Oil Recipe Ingredients:
1 oz Essential oil(s)
2 1/4 oz Reed diffuser oil base (such as pre-formulated reed diffuser
oil base, or Dipropylene Glycol, Fragrance Grade)
Optional: 1/4 oz Perfumer's alcohol (you may or may not need this)
Total volume of reed diffuser oil using this recipe: 3 1/4 oz to 3 1/2 oz
You can scale this reed diffuser oil recipe to make a larger or smaller
volume of oil. Just keep the ingredient proportions the same by multiplying or
dividing all ingredient amounts in the recipe by the same number. Amounts don't
have to be exact. Some reed diffuser oil formulas will work better with more (or
less) essential oil/fragrance oil.
Reed Diffuser Oil Recipe Instructions:
Combine the essential oil(s) and diffuser oil base in a 4 oz glass bottle
with a narrow neck. Cap the bottle and shake gently to mix.
If the essential oils and dipropylene glycol form a solution that is too
thick to wick up the reeds, add 0.25 oz perfumer's alcohol to the bottle and
stir to mix. If it's still too thick, mix in another 0.25 oz perfumer's
alcohol. For more on troubleshooting your reed diffuser oil recipe, see the
last section of How to Make a Reed Diffuser.
