Eucalyptus essential oil is amazing for its fresh, medicinal, earthy scent. But did you know that there’s multiple variations of this beloved oil?

• Eucalyptus Radiata
• Eucalyptus Globulus
• Lemon Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Citriodora)

These oils are very similar in names but have some main chemical composition and scent differences.

Eucalyptus Globulus is known for its strong, herbaceous scent with woody undertones while Eucalyptus Radiata has a crisp, clean, camphorous aroma.

Lemon Eucalyptus on the other hand is unique as it includes Citronellal- an ingredient known to give off the fresh, lemon scent many enjoy! Lemon Eucalyptus is similar to Citronella in that regard, but it also has a woody, earthy scent of other Eucalyptus oils. It is commonly used in over-the-counter pain relieving products such as creams, ointments, etc.

Eucalyptus Globulus is commonly used as a decongestant or a cough suppressant in many products for those suffering from colds or seasonal allergies.

Last but not least, Eucalyptus Radiata has similar benefits of the other Eucalyptus oils- it is commonly used in pain relieving products and as a decongestant.

When it comes to Eucalyptus, these oils are similar, but have some differences that are important to not overlook!
